The Gruffalo- Algorithm



Students will be able to

  • responds to the task of retracing the steps the Mouse took, from the Gruffalo story by breaking the problem down into a set of precise instructions.
  • show the steps in sequence by order in which it happened- as an Algorithm
  • Uses directional language such as Left and Right, up and down and draw arrows to match

 Scanning the QR codes in the forest finding out the next clue.

The Junior syndicates read the picture book The Gruffalo They then went on their own hunt scanning QR codes to get their next clue they retraced the steps the Mouse took.

When they returned to the class they were given a story grid which they needed to show the steps by using directional arrows.

Makey Makey

More Makey Makey

This was a whole day of learnings.  

The object of this lesson was to:  

  • get the students familiar with music notes, names and values
  • introduce the new Scratch 3.0
  • add the new blocks to use makey makey



The outcome of this lesson required the students to:

  •  create a code using scratch to a simple song or tune
  •  connect a makeymakey to create an instrument to play the sound through
